Disclaimer

The legal stuff........ Our goal at Home-Work is to match you the consumer with screened, licensed, and insured companies. Our screening process is very thorough, structured, and ongoing.  However, we are simply an information source for you.  We do not own the companies nor do we do the work. Unfortunately our legal system requires the inclusion of a Legal Disclaimer. As a result, the following disclaimer applies.

By using the Home-Work Service the customer understands, acknowledges, and accepts the following disclaimer. This disclaimer is also located prominently on the email or fax which all customers will receive prior to booking a contractor.

  • The user agrees that Home-work cannot be held liable or responsible for any event that takes place with the companies that are listed with this service. Home-Work does not own the independent contracting companies and therefore cannot guarantee the performance of the  contractors, nor can Home-Work be held responsible for damages or liability of work performed by contractors listed on this site. Choosing a contractor is done so at the risk of the user.
  • Home-Work is an information source for consumers, which is offered with the intention of providing information in order to help the customer make a more informed decision when choosing a contractor. We endeavor to keep our records on our member companies current, however we cannot be held liable for any problems that arise because of information that has changed without our knowledge.
  • Companies' records; licensing-both municipal and provincial (when held), insurance, Worker's Compensation (if held), and the BBB are checked twice a year. The last date information was verified will be listed on the company's profile. As well, continual quality checks are made with customers who use our member companies. We have no control over, nor can we be held liable for any problems that arise due to changes to our information between the dates checked. We strongly suggest that the customer, when choosing to hire a contractor, especially for large jobs, ensures that all insurances and licenses are current and valid.
